Go Back Documentary
65_RedRoses
Directed by: Nimisha Mukerji and Philip Lyall
(Q&A with filmmaker after screening)

The award-winning 65_RedRoses celebrates the courage and determination of Eva Markvoort, a 23-year-old patient with Cystic Fibrosis. In desperate need of a double lung transplant, seeking others who understand her potentially lethal condition, Eva turns to the Internet and Facebook. She soon forms a powerful bond with two American girls in different stages of the same illness—online friendships that withstand the tests of time and distance. Ultimately, this stunning work of contemporary cinema-vérité filmmaking is a deeply inspiring film about taking control, reaching out and facing mortality head-on. (70 minutes) American West Coast Premiere. Most Popular Canadian Documentary, National Film Board of Canada; Most Popular Canadian Film, Vancouver International Film Festival.
